National Park "Mari Chodra" is one of the most beautiful corners of our state, the pearl of the Mari Territory. Its trademark is by right the purest lakes and springs, deep rivers, forests with their diversity of flora and fauna. In this area, the forest died as a result of a crown fire in 2010. The area was covered with a coniferous plantation of different ages (from 42 to 100 years old) (pine species). In 2011, clear sanitary felling was carried out on the site. There is no natural reforestation, so the park administration decided to plant Scots pine seedlings, which will restore the damaged ecosystem. 5 km from the site there is a wildlife monument of all-Russian importance - Pugachev's Oak and the unique lake Mushan-er.
