About area

Eastern Siberia, which includes the Irkutsk region, is distinguished by a variety of flattering rocks. Their composition is dominated by larch (76%) in the west - Siberian, and in the rest of the territory - Daurian, pine (10%), birch and aspen (6%), cedar (3%) and dwarf cedar (4%). In the north of the Irkutsk region, deciduous forests play the main role. Spruce forests are mainly found along rivers, streams, streams and on the northern slopes of the mountains. About 7,000,000 hectares are occupied by cedar forests, which is 12% in percentage. The climate of the Irkutsk region is sharply continental, with long cold winters and short, but hot and dry summers. Due to the specified climatic indicators of this region, there are frequent cases of forest fires, which, unfortunately, cause significant damage to the region's flattering resources. This is why reforestation programs are especially important here. Fortunately, thanks to the "Give a forest to a friend" program of the Post Bank, today everyone can become a participant in a forest restoration project. So, one of the territories where urgent assistance is needed is the site of the Gorokhovsky district forestry of the Irkutsk forestry enterprise, which lost about 100 hectares of forest due to a strong fire. To restore this site, it is planned to plant Scots pine.

Greetings to you, dear friends of our forest! Back in the spring, specialists of the Gorokhovsky Forestry monitored the plantings, and we are ready to please you with great news. Pines show a steady increase and, in general, a high percentage of rooting. And today, foresters note that the addition of a plot with new seedlings is not required. Regular agrotechnical cares, accompanied during the summer, make it ... possible to get rid of weed vegetation around the seedlings, which gives them additional moisture and the necessary light. Within a few years, on the site of our plantings, a real pine forest will make noise. Follow our new reports!

On April 7, 2017, a commission consisting of representatives of the Irkutsk forestry, the All-Russian Popular Front and the Voluntary Fire Service of the Irkutsk Region checked the survival of Siberian pine seedlings planted on this site in September 2016. The result is amazing - the overwhelming majority of saplings took root!
