Their composition is dominated by larch (76%) in the west - Siberian, and in the rest of the territory - Daurian, pine (10%), birch and aspen (6%), cedar (3%) and dwarf cedar (4%). In the north of the Irkutsk region, deciduous forests play the main role. Spruce forests are mainly found along rivers, streams, streams and on the northern slopes of the mountains. About 7,000,000 hectares are occupied by cedar forests, which is 12% in percentage. Fortunately, thanks to the "Give a forest to a friend" program of the Post Bank, today everyone can become a participant in a forest restoration project. So, one of the territories where urgent assistance is needed is the site of the Khomutovsky district forestry of the Irkutsk forestry enterprise, which lost about 100 hectares of forest due to a strong fire. To restore this site, it is planned to plant Scots pine. Soil preparation is scheduled for very 2017 and new forest planting is scheduled for spring 2018.
