the shores of the lake occurred in the 1990s during the days of the Karabakh conflict, when there was a crisis of electricity, diesel and gas. As a result of this crisis, the population was forced to cut down trees to heat their houses, and initially there was a pine forest at this place. With the help of the program Unistream "Give the forest to a friend" we want to restore this pine forest.

Национальный парк "Севан" располагается в Армении и назван в честь «Водной Жемчужины» страны – озера Севан. Эта огромная чаша с бескрайним синим простором – одно из крупнейших высокогорных пресноводных озер в мире. Озеро заповедано в рамках Рамсарской конвенции как водно-болотное угодье мирового значения. Данный участок в 15 га находится прямо у знаменитого озера, недалеко от села Арегуни. Антропогенные редколесья на берегах озера произошли в 1990-х годах во времена Карабахского конфликта, когда был кризис электроэнергии, дизельного топлива и газа. Вследствие этого кризиса население было вынуждено рубить деревья для отопления домов, а изначально на этом месте был сосновый лес. С помощью программы Юнистрима "Подари лес другу" мы хотим восстановить этот сосновый лес.
